Our incredible Constitution has run its
course…too many people have learned how to game it…it
needs to be revised and updated with modern thinking and
language. It is time for Version 2.0 to include term
limits, balanced budget with emergency provisions, and no electoral
college.
The original legal document organizing our nation was the Articles Of Confederation. It got our nation off the ground but it was soon realized its flaws would ruin our country so a Grand Convention was called to amend it to correct the flaws. Instead of the Grand Convention amending the first legal document, they disobeyed orders and, in secret, created a second legal document - our current Constitution. Our Constitution, like the original legal document, has its flaws and we are approaching a critical time in the survival of our nation because of these flaws.
Our government is dysfunctional and approaching
total paralysis. Politicians and bureaucrats have
forgotten they are in their position to help the
country, not themselves. Even if our government never
reaches total gridlock, it is so bogged down in
politics that is like having a huge weight on our
backs. You can't move forward when you spend most of
your energy holding up the weight.
The government has become the problem rather than the
solution. The weight our nation carries because of the
bureaucracy and regulation is becoming an impossible
burden to carry. The intent of all of the regulation
may be good but it is just too much. The term "reset"
comes to mind but that would mean rebuilding from
scratch; a more thoughtful change with longer term
planning is needed to transition.
Our Constitution has guided us for over 200
years; it has created a nation of amazing historic
proportions but it is old and creaky; it is now
holding us back. We need to take the next step up the
ladder…it is time to move on with an evolutionary,
not revolutionary, upgrade.
Is the New Constitution perfect?
No…there is no such thing. The New Constitution
may be the best we have at this point in time, but then
it even has a 100 year sunset clause included because
there will need to be a Version 3.0. Thomas Jefferson
thought the Constitution should be rewritten, or at
least revised, every generation which is only every 20
years.
You and I are proud Americans with unique
backgrounds and thought patterns. We live under a
Constitution which guarantees our right to express our
opinions. I am expressing mine and you need to express
yours. When I stop and think about it, why shouldn’t
any person on Earth be able to express their opinion?
Someone out there, somewhere else on Earth, may have
an idea that would be very helpful. In the end, the
Citizens of the United States still have the final
vote on their destiny.

Constitution. Read comments and discuss

Unlike our Constitution Version 1.0 which was written
by committee of 74 men, the New Constitution
was written by one hand with thoughtful input from
all. The New Constitution was published
on January 1, 2012, in its final, unamendable form for
an up or down vote (just like the current Constitution). An
Amendment to our current Constitution will also be
published which will cause the current Constitution
to be replaced by the New Constitution.
Is it time for term limits, balanced
budget with emergency provisions, and no electoral college? Then
it is now up to you, the American People, to decide if
you are really fed up and are willing to change and
make changes. Has the country gone far enough down the
path of self-destruction that a serious change has to
be made? Is it time to cut the cancer out and move on
to a better life?
